What is a Same-Day Restoration?
Normally, placing a dental crown, an inlay, or an onlay requires more than one visit to the dentist. However, when using CEREC technology to fabricate and place a dental restoration, a dentist can perform the entire procedure in only one visit.
CEREC (Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics) is a system that allows for the fabrication of same-day ceramic dental restorations. At West End Dental Centre, our dentists use CEREC technology to place crowns, veneers, inlays and onlays in just one appointment.
Dental Crowns
Crowns are porcelain caps that are placed on top of your teeth to restore their function and appearance. Crowns can be used to attach bridges, cover implants, repair cracked or damaged teeth or help restore a discoloured tooth to its natural appearance.
Veneers
Veneers are thin pieces of durable, tooth-shaped porcelain that are custom-made and bonded to the front of your natural tooth to change the symmetry, shape or colour of your smile.
Inlays & Onlays
Inlays and onlays are more extensive tooth-coloured porcelain fillings that are used to repair advanced cavities that a standard dental filling wouldn't be able to address and are generally used to treat cavities in molars.
